Hi again everyone. You know what, it feels great to be back, both to Barcelona and the blog and know there are people out there reading what I write. I am so grateful for all of you! It makes writing a blog more fun...
I have more or less been on the run for the last 6 weeks and haven’t really had that much time for the blog,
or blogs in general, but now things are getting back to normal and I am
excited to get into the blog-world again.
First I went to Norway, and while I was there I wrote about things in Norway from a tourist point of view such as some beautiful fjords/fjord-towns (Geiranger, Flåm, the booktown of Fjærland), glacierwalks,
and the midnight sun inLofoten. Just in case anyone is interested.

Then I came back to Spain and went straight to the North of Spain, visiting la Rioja, Asturias and Basque Country (autonomous communities)...

... before coming back to Barcelona to not miss the fabulous street-festival of Fiestas de Gracia, which made my head spin from all of the awesomeness and creativity. I couldn’t not post about all those beautifully decorated streets! Well, I only posted about half of them, but that will have to do for now.

Then when the fiestas finished I went on another trip, this time to Provence in the south of France.

And now I am back and have a million memories and places to digest. It’s been a great great summer!
Although it’s not like summer is over, the heat is still close to unbearable in Barcelona. Actually one of the reasons for the trips to North of Spain and South of France in August was to escape some August heat in Barcelona, cause it really is pretty heavy stuff. Then I was so lucky as to encounter a heatwave first in Spain, and then in France! And I can hereby conclude that I don’t like heatwaves at all!
They are nasty things.
Now back in Barcelona, the heatwave from during the Fiestas de Gracia is gone, but at night, the temperature is still around 28 degrees, and I must say I envy the lucky people possessing an AC in their homes. (Which by the way is not usual at all in rented homes here.)
If anyone has experiences and tips on how to get through a heatwave without
going insane I'd love to hear them!
Hope you are all well and I promise to tell all about the best experiences from these trips,
I just need to land first...
dang girl! you've been all over the place. i was hoping to get to geiranger this summer but it never happened :( hope you're excited to be back and had a great time traveling!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, so have you! I've kept to Europe though but had a wonderful time here and there! Geiranger is wonderful on a sunny day, recommend it!
DeleteI cannot wait to here all about your trip to Provence! I hope you had a great time :)
ReplyDeleteI had a great time, and lots thanks to your tips! It's so so beautiful over there! Though VERY hot! Has it calmed down now that I've left? ;) At least here in Barcelona it's more normal summer temperatures now, not all like an oven!
DeleteGlad you had such a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI love all your pictures! I just can't get enough of them!
Thank you so much Katrin :) I enjoy taking them!
DeleteVelkommen tilbake.
DeleteOh my, Provence is high on my list of dream destinations. I hope you share some pics!
ReplyDeleteI will for sure share pics! It is B E A U T Y F U L!
DeleteIt seems like you had a great summer so far. Keep blogging please. We don't just read what you write, we certainly enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your words, Awadh!
Deleteseems like you've had a little bit more heat to digest than us here in ireland ;)
ReplyDeleteand welcome back - looking forward to plenty more inside scoops on barcelona!
Possibly ;) I am still most comfortable up to 30 degrees, not so much at 31-50! I'd love to give some more inside scoops on Barcelona, I just never quite know what is interesting to read about but I'll keep it in mind!
