Fiestas de Gracia - presenting C/Joan Blanques - The North and South pole!

"Para que te sientes en casa" was the comment of my friend when he saw the igloo...
"So that I can feel like home..." Oh well!

One of the decorated streets at the Fiestas de Gracia is built up around the theme of the
North and South pole. Very cool and very well done.

The entrance at one side of the street: The North Pole:

Nespresso-fish!

From the "roof" there is "ice", "snowballs", "snow crystals", "icicles" and "gulls", very cool!

I love how most of the decorations are created from garbage basically. Used plastic bottles, yoghurt cups, milk cartons etc. This street had put up a thank you note to the neighbors
who has helped them collect:
  • 1500 big water bottles (the kind with 5-8 litres in them)
  • 2500 water bottles
  • 5000 plastic bags
  • 1200 coffee capsules from Nespresso
  • newspapers, carton, expanded polyester etc.

At the other end of the street, it's all about the South Pole:

Where to find it?

 Isn't this great?
