Yesterday walking a random street in Barcelona, I saw "Tiger" spelled out in familiar white letters on a black background over a shop entrance. Can it be? No, for sure it's not. It's probably some independent shop of some kind, and they thought the name was catchy. Those were my thoughts, cause what's the chance? Well anyhow, I had to check it out so I crossed the street and went up to the shop. Hopeful till the last moment, I stepped inside and saw that –YES it was in fact the Danish chain store of Tiger!
I have close family in Denmark and have been to Denmark many many times, and I always make sure to stop by a Tiger store just cause they have so much fun stuff at a great price. I was thrilled to find a Tiger-shop in Barcelona!!
When I came home I went onto the website, and I found that they have stores in many countries now, and two in Barcelona. So it turns out it wasn’t as unique as I thought, but I am delighted to be able to shop at Tiger here!
I have never heard of it, but it definitely looks like a store I would like!
ReplyDeleteIf I dare, I'll take some pictures from inside, there are so much fun stuff! I say dare, cause several times I have been yelled at for taking pictures in shops here :O
DeleteI just went to their website and now I'm horribly upset that we don't have these State-side. It looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI have to check out the other shop here in Barcelona, maybe it's bigger and even more awesome! Maybe I'll even take a couple pictures (but it seems they don't like that here, so I'll see...)
DeleteI have heard about Tiger before but I have never been there! I would so love to go! Glad you found one in Barcelona!
ReplyDeleteWow, you heard about it! I see it's become a bigger 'brand' than I realized :) Thank you, I am so glad I found one here too!
DeleteI think it's pretty famous is the UK, but I am not sure. But I looked at their homepage and they have so many fabulous things there! I really want to go to one of their stores!
DeleteNow you are tempting me to come up to Bcn - even in this heat! What can I buy there?
ReplyDeleteK x
I'll see if 'me animo' and I'll take some pictures. But it's a bit scary to take out the camera cause I've been yelled at several times in shops "No fotos! No fotos!!"
DeleteTalking about the heat, it's too much for Norwegian me these days. 30 degrees at night with no AC- can you learn to sleep well in such heat I wonder?
DeleteMoments and discoveries like this can make such a difference when you're living in another country. I'm so happy for you! It looks quite popular too!
ReplyDeleteExactly Vanisha! It's like a piece from 'home' (although not quite). But finding Tiger made me smile big :)
DeleteThere are a couple of Tiger stores in Madrid, too, and I love 'em! So much cute stuff, and a lot of it is useful, too.
ReplyDeleteI have been shopping at Tiger in Denmark for about 14 years I think, and it was always on my 'must-do-list' when there. It's so nice that they are expanding and that I can find them here :) (And also nice to hear that other people wihtout previous knowledge of it like it too!)
