Ahh the Spanish guitar...

Here we go again. I had one of those moments again and I can't stop myself from writing about it again.

I was so lucky! Was just walking down El Portal de l’angel (one of the main shopping streets in Barcelona center) and I heard some beautiful music being played somewhere further ahead. I didn’t even see the artist, but I already thought (and hoped) that I recognized it, and YES! It was the same musician who made my day week back in October, and the very same one who got me to buy my first ever street-musician CD. I fell in love that day. Well, it's not quite true actually, cause one of my absolute favourite moments from my month in Málaga was in fact also music-related. I think I fell in love that day. But then it just got reinforced this day back in October.

And there he was again, today, with his magic guitar and once again I was completely sucked away from the hustle and bustle of this very busy street and entered this strange state of mind where the world is an even more beautiful place, where everything is possible, beautiful, wonderful and life can't get much better. Music does that to me. Or well, good music does that to me, and there's not a whole lot in this world better than this feeling. It might sound weird, but music feeds my soul and I am just so happy that once again I was so lucky to get to listen to his music.

And to think that before coming to Spain the words Spanish & Guitar together had no special meaning to me. I need to get myself a ticket to a great Spanish Guitar show at Palau de la musica! And keep chasing this talented musician around the old town…

I didn't have my camera with me today, but a photo from last time will have to do!

  1. I so agree, a Spanish guitar played by someone who can really play is enchanting. Time falls away as you´ve no choice but to stop and be moved.

My son makes Spanish flamenco guitars, but doesn´t play flamenco!
